Although saving money on expenses is important, that doesn’t mean you should skip the gym to save money. That’s why many students look for gyms that offer student discounts.
Why Equinox?
I’ve been a club member for a while now, and I love, love, go to the gym. It’s easy to find, especially here in New York City, and I try to take a class about three times a week.
The gym is nice and has lots of equipment, so you never have to wait for a treadmill. There are also plenty of squat racks and weight areas for the boys.
There’s also a boxing room, pilates jump board, yoga studio, spin bikes, TRX, heavy ropes, VIPs and those cool WaterRover erg machines.
Even though I’m not usually the type to try new things at the gym, I used them all throughout the classes!

This gym chain’s cheap membership fees mean they offer exclusive and high-end benefits that anyone will be happy to have.
If only there was a way to lower the cost of membership!
Most gym owners know that students have to exercise. It’s a way to help them feel better about their health and improve their mental health.
Students often have flexible schedules, so they can go to the gym in the middle of the day or late at night.
Although many gyms offer student discounts, Equinox does not. Their brand is about being exclusive, and they only want people who can pay a high price to get in.
Add this to their exceptional services, high-quality appliances and lavish amenities, and members will feel unique enough to spend more. They will think that high prices are justified.
Equinox Deals and Discounts
Is the cost of membership in Equinox keeping you from joining? You are not alone. Many people would love to work there if they didn’t have to worry about money.
You won’t get a student discount anywhere else. Although the equinox is often considered to have one, this is not true. But that doesn’t mean there’s no chance of getting a discount.
First of all, if you buy during their sale time, you can get a discount.
In summer and winter, they sometimes offer discounts without charging the initiation fee. But the monthly membership cost has not changed.
After you graduate, you can find a job in one of the companies they work with. Some companies deal with them and they can give them discounts.
Some company discounts are great, but most of them don’t save you much compared to the cost of an Equinox membership. Many gyms are small, and members can only use 1-2 of them.
Equinox Prices Overview
Equinox is a high-end gym, which you should already know. Therefore, you can expect to pay more than usual to use their high-end facilities and most importantly, to work out in their comfortable workout area.
A monthly membership at Equinox costs $168.00 for one club access. If you work out at Equinox 5 days a week, you’ll only spend $8.40 per day. Isn’t that amazing?
On top of the price of an Equinox membership, it has an introductory fee, just like most popular gyms. However, you don’t have to break the bank to pay this fee, as Equinox’s initiation fee is only $100.
All Club Access, on the other hand, costs $230 per month and lets you work out at any Equinox club in the country while you’re traveling. For the facilities and services they offer, it is a very reasonable price.
Also, most Equinox clubs have an annual membership that costs between $2200 and $3000 and gives you access to one or more clubs.
With any of the above membership plans, you can use all services and benefits as usual. At these places, you can find yoga, pilates, massage rooms, pools, kickboxing and much more.
But some clubs, especially those with many different facilities, may have different rules about which facilities you can and cannot use.
In New York City, for example, some Equinox clubs offer a super premium membership plan that costs $500 per month. When you pay more, you can always expect better features and extras.
In this case, you should contact them directly and ask what the final price will be.
Also, they say monthly rates will increase every year due to inflation and other factors. So, make sure you look at all the details, such as annual fee increases, cancellation fees, etc.
In most cases, Equinox will not charge you anything to cancel your membership. But you must request 45 days before you want to cancel your membership. In other words, if you want to cancel your membership in Equinox, it takes at least 45 days to complete this process.
If you want to stop your membership you don’t have to pay anything. But you have to request five days before the end of the month to cancel your membership starting next month.
